Basic Safety Tips


SAFETY TIPS FROM NATIONAL ORIENTATION AGENCY (N.O.A.) PLEASE READ IT!

  1. Never go to bed with your car's fuel tank empty (No fuel). In case of an emergency, what if your good neighbour isn't at home.
  2. Never employ a nanny you don't know her home. Some of them are child traffickers in disguise.
  3. Never go to bed with your phone empty (No airtime). Most emergencies happen at night.
  4. Do not stand or park your car under high tension cable especially when it is windy.
  5. Do not attempt to start your generator with your phone torchlight as the source of light, as this could cause explosion.
  6. Do not answer telephone calls in the kitchen when your gas cylinder is turn on.
  7. Endeavour to crawl under the smoke if a house is engulfed by smoke, as walking straight could cause suffocation. Smoke mounts up.
  8. If by mistake you swallow a fish bone, lick salt, and pull your ears while you cough out the fish bone.
  9. If you are in any traffic or 'hold up', 'go-slow' as in local parlance, if you must remain in your car while it is not in motion, always apply your central lock.
  10. Do not leave your children alone in the car with your dog or any pet.
  11. Nowadays, never enter a lift alone if you must, so many are already gone through this.
  12. Never leave your opened drink to take a call outside. It could be a plan to distract you. Many have been poisoned through this.
  13. Never rush out to turn off the tap on hearing its sound in the night. It's a new robbery trick to wilfully bring you out. Remember, you didn't leave it running before retiring to bed.

Instead of calling their name, tap them gently and if they don't respond wait a bit and tap them later.
Do not call out a person's name while they are sleeping because their adrenaline can shot up causing fear and panic which can cause Brain Damage.

Waterleaf Benefits.

Healing Powers of Waterleaf


Waterleaf, (Talinum triangulare), is one of those underrated and undervalued plants in Nigeria. Some even regard waterleaf as a nuisance, a stubborn weed that grows all year, though it flourished more during the rainy season.
In many scientific studies and trails, waterleaf showed that it can inhibit proliferation of cancerous cells and shrink tumours. Other studies have been focused on its cerebral-protective potential and it indicates that consumption of waterleaf enhances brain activities and protects brain tissues.
Waterleaf is also a good remedy for insomnia (sleeping disorder).
Waterleaf contains more proteins than cashew nuts, more pectin (a food fiber that helps digestion) than apples, and also have high level of vitamin B, essential amino acids, omega3-fatty acids, resins, iron, calcium, copper, lead, manganese and zinc. It is also a rich source of carotenoids, vitamin C, A, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, alpha and beta tocopherols.
The pounded waterleaf is applied to soothe inflammations. An infusion of the leaves is taken as a diuretic. For prostate enlargement, the roots are boiled. The dosage is half a glass twice daily. Waterleaf is good and safe for pregnant women and growing children, as it boosts their blood levels. Eating waterleaf regularly as soup helps to regulate hypertension and diabetes.
Waterleaf is very beneficial when it is taken as vegetable, dried herbs and infusion. However, juicing is the way to go if you want the best out of waterleaf. What is juicing? Juicing is a process whereby you extract vitamins, minerals and liquids from fruits and vegetables.
To juice waterleaf, simply chop waterleaf, both stem and leaves into pieces, in the same way you do if you want to cook it. Then put two or three handfuls in the blender and add one litre of water. Blend in same way as you blend your tomato or fruit. Sieve out the chaff and you will be left with a dark green liquid, packed with vitamins and minerals. Ensure you drink and finish the whole drink within 10 minutes.

Oil Filter - 1,000
Change of front wheel boris - 25,000
Change of the four tyres 205/70 Rim 16 @ 26,500 - 106,000
Wheel Balancing & Alignment - 3,500
Servicing and Workmanship cost - 10,000
Bought Ejector Cleaner & Chemical to minimize Fuel Consumption - 1,500
To cap it all I filled the fuel tank up with just 13,500
Total cost was 160,000!!!!!!
While on my bed tonight, a thought began to creep into my mind after hearing so many sad news this week.
Three different Engineers died in their 40's, 50's, etc.
I was told that they complained of simple signs & symptoms of one ailment or the other and death struck in three successions: December, 2017, January, 2018 & February, 2018.
I asked myself HOW MUCH HAVE I SPENT THIS YEAR TO SERVICE MY BODY?
For how long will you keep thinking all is well with your health in spite of all odds?
We drive through dust at times, inhale all kind of unclean and highly polluted air, drink some water we don't know their sources, eat fast foods with additives and hazardous condiments.
We engage the computer and phone without minding our gradual exposure to radiations.
If my car could gulp over 160,000 in an instance just for fine tuning I think I deserve to diagnose and upgrade my system.
Who is doing all the tough job, you or your car?
When last did you have a medical check-up?
How healthy is your lifestyle?
What efforts are you making to maintain optimum capacity of your body internal organs?
The Oil Filter is Kidney,
Fuel Pump is your Heart,
Air Filter is the Lungs,
The Plugs in your body is your Pancreas,
Chemical Filters is your Liver while
Your body chassis is the Bones and Skeletal system.
Check your eyes, ears, vital organs like heart, liver, kidneys and lungs.
It could make a difference.

MAKING YOUR MEDICINE WORK


Ever wondered why certain medications don’t work after several days of use? Normally people who have experienced this will conclude that the drug is fake, expired or even a wrong prescription. Some will even go as far as blaming their village people for being at the top of their game. But do you know there are certain foods and medicine you shouldn’t mix together?
Yes. Certain meals can prevent your medications from working, or worse still, cause dangerous side effects, and we have curated 6 of them here. Many people probably do not know this;
Vitamin C and Anti-malaria drugs
This is what happens when you mix both. But first a background:
All drugs are metabolized in the liver. The liver is rich in iron, and iron is important in the life cycle of malaria parasites (plasmodium). Vitamin C helps in absorption of iron, which goes to the liver. Malaria parasites accumulate in the liver and multiply since the iron they need to survive is surplus there. This counteracts the effect of whatever malaria drug you’re taking. So chill on those citrus fruits or supplements when you’re treating malaria.
Painkillers and Soft drinks
We all know soft drinks contain carbonated water. I mean, it’s boldly written on the bottle label/can. Carbonated water = Carbon-dioxide gas + water (LOL, no, you do not just add carbon-dioxide and water together, it has to be dissolved under pressure and all). So when you take painkillers and soft drinks together, the Carbon-dioxide gas and the acid it contains increases concentration of the drugs in the blood, which leads to toxicity that could be fatal.
Dairy products and Antibiotics
Antibiotics are drugs used in the treatment and prevention of bacteria. Examples are Tetracycline and penicillin. Dairy products are rich in Calcium, which prevents the body from absorbing these antibiotics. This reduces the drug’s efficacy.
Banana and Anti-hypertensive drugs
Bananas are rich in potassium. Anti-hypertensive drugs increase potassium levels in the blood. Anti-hypertensive drugs + Bananas = too much potassium which leads to irregular heartbeat, heart palpitations and could cause diseases such as Arrhythmia. Love your heart.
Grape fruit and Statins
Statin is a class of drug used to lower cholesterol levels. Like most drugs, it also has side effects. Grape fruit contains a compound/chemical that stops the breakdown of statins in the intestine. It leads to increased level of the drug = higher risk of side effects.
Leafy Vegetables and Anti Coagulants (Blood Thinner)
Anti-coagulants (Blood Thinners) are medications that decelerate blood coagulation. No, they don’t actually thin your blood but they prevent blood clots from growing larger and are used to prevent stroke and treat heart disease. Examples are Aspirin, Warfarin.
Leafy Vegetables are rich in Vitamin K – Vitamin K promotes blood clotting. So what happens? The effect of the drug is countered.
This shouldn’t be the first time you read “Don’t take drugs with alcohol’. Why so?
Drugs are metabolized in the liver. Alcohol is metabolized in the liver. You actually over work your liver when taking alcohol and drugs at the same time leading to liver damage.
We all know medicine comes with a long list of things you can’t do but what most people don’t know is that some natural healthy meals are part of the list. Limit certain foods and if a certain drug doesn’t work or makes you feel some type of way, don’t assume anything. Immediately consult your doctor for advice.

VITAL HEALTH NUGGETS!


·     Drinking hot lemon water can prevent cancer. Don't add sugar. Hot lemon water is more beneficial than cold lemon water.
·       Both yellow and purple sweet potatoes have good cancer prevention properties.
·       Taking late night dinner often can increase the chance of stomach cancer.
·        Never take more than 4 eggs per week.
·        Eating chicken backside can cause stomach cancer.
·        Never eat fruits after meal. Fruits should be eaten before meals.
·        Don't take tea during menstruation period.
·        Take less soy milk, no adding sugar or egg to soy milk.
·        Don't eat tomato with empty stomach.
·     Drink a glass of plain water every morning before food to prevent gall bladder stones.
·        No food 3hrs before bed time.
·   Drink less liquor or avoid it totally, no nutritional properties but can cause diabetes and hypertension.
·       Do not eat toast bread when it is hot from oven or toaster.
·      Do not charge your hand phone or any device next to you when you are sleeping.
·        Drink 10 glasses of water a day to prevent bladder cancer.
·        Drink more water in the day time, less at night.
·        Don't drink more than 2 cups of coffee a day, may cause insomnia and gastric.
·        Eat less oily food. It takes 5-7 hours to digest them and makes you feel tired.
·        Eat less after 5pm.
·     Six types of food that makes you happy: banana, grapefruit, spinach, pumpkin, peach.
·   Sleeping less than 8 hours a day may deteriorate our brain function. Taking Afternoon rest for half an hour may keep our youthful look.

People ask me, what is the purpose of life? And I respond:
In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.
One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body but not the end of me.
I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity.
This is the warm-up act, the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity.
We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense.
Life is a series of problems; either you are in one now, OR you're just coming out of one, OR you're getting ready to go into another one.
The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.
We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character.
No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on.
And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for.
You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems.
If you focus on your problems, you're going into self-centeredness, which is my problem, my issues, my pain. But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others. We need to ask ourselves; am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)?
When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better.
God didn't put me on earth just to fulfil a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do.
That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.
